Grampian Schools - Summer SnowsportsFest 2024



Welcome to The Grampian Schools - Summer SnowsportsFest for Primary and Secondary School kids.


This event is designed for Individuals to take part in whilst representing your School at the same time! Taking place on Sunday 19th Mary 2024.

 

You can take part in Racing and/or Freestyle in the same event on the same night! We encourage you to sign up to both as you'll get the chance to ski or snowboard loads!

 

G*Snow Coaches will be on hand on the night to guide and assist you in either part of the event.

 

The G*Snow Cafe will be available for snacks and refreshments throughout the evening.

Primary Event Timings (Approximate)

Entry is from 14:45 at the G*Zebo at the bottom of the slope

Warm Up 15:00-15:30

Event Pt. 1: 15:30-16:20 (Racing or Freestyle) Event Pt. 2: 16:30-17:20 (Racing or Freestyle)

Results & Prize Giving 17:30-17:45 Secondary Event Timings (Approximate) Entry is from 17:45 at the G*Zebo at the bottom of the slope

Warm Up 18:00-18:15

Event 18:20-19:30 (Alternating between Racing & Freestyle)

Results & Prize Giving 19:45-20:00 



The Event Format is as follows:

 

The Race Event will be a timed slalom run through a race course. You will have the chance to race multiple times, the fastest two times combined will count towards your results. 


Categories for racing will be Primary: P1-4 and P5-7 Female and Open Secondary: S1-3 and S4-6 Femalr and Open

 

The Freestyle Event will be a simple Rail Jam on our Grom Boxes, these are wide boxes which anyone new to freestyle can have a go at. Participants will have the chance to take part in as many runs as they wish within the allotted time period. Spot prizes awarded.

NB. For more advanced Freestylers, due to the nature of the slope, if you wish to ride on or off the boxes switch (backwards) you will require twin tip skis, Alford Ski Centre do not have twin tip ski's available to hire so you will need to bring your own. 


Price is £13.50pp this includes entry fee, slope use, equipment hire if required and temporary Club Membership if you are not a member of a Snowsport Scotland affiliated Club.
